Vision and Mission

EMPOWERED as the name suggests, work towards holistic well-being of individuals and EMPOWER people to deal with themselves adequately in difficult times. In other words, we are on a mission to bring about a paradigm shift in the concept of:
- The concept of personal and professional wellbeing and;
- The concept of Psychological and Mental Health across the globe

Our objective is to change the bigger picture of dissatisfaction, ill health and distress by raising the awareness, understanding and application of Mental Health concepts. Thus enabling and empowering people to learn minimize 'negatives' and maximize 'positives' in life.

Mental health is defined as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.

- World Health Organization (WHO)

In order to make this 'vision' reach and work on ground level' it is important to have a multi faceted approach. Neither a bottom-up nor a top-down approach is likely to fulfil the human needs and community requirements. We exist as a 'whole' rather than independent fragments, so nipping the issues in the bud is as important as addressing and managing the surface manifestations. Hence this overall change in both the individual and the community becomes a goal to be achieved.

As mentioned above, it is important to deal with human beings as living entities and not mechanical objects, so a holistic approach that targets the problem areas both at surface and the core is needed. A holistic approach is more likely to be competent and suitable for the human race than others. Each one of us has different issues and situations so customizing the approach as per the individuals' needs probably makes more sense! We at Empowered intend to work on various levels in the system of human existence; therefore intervention at individual, familial, academic, organizational, and community levels become essential in transforming the entire community, nation and then the world.
